“Young Aggressive Aspect Vol.2”
Chiharu Mizukawa- Nokoriyu: the water after bathing herself

As the project exhibition curated by Emiko Kato, "Young Aggressive Aspect" is now held at the art bar 'Galaxy Countach' (the owner, Toshiki Yagisawa) in Shinjuku, every two month in August, October.

In October, we will introduce Chiharu Mizukawa who lives and works in Osaka. It is distinguished for a unique work using “the water after the bathing" herself. She normally makes use of ordinary expendable supplies and materials in which she focuses on her attentions to the daily life for her creations.

Her distinctive works are large-scale drawings "aburidashi" burnt with sympathetic ink which is made use of “Nokoriyu” is the water after bathing herself for few months. These drawings represent of describe women fascinations like the diet foods, healthy drinks, and daily necessaries, because she cynically directs her attentions to her same generation who highly concern with their hysterics for the beauty treatment and good health.

The jewelries are made of “Nokoriyu” coagulated with the gelatin, but also they become to shrivel up by the time passage unlike real jewelries, and disappear off at the end. It reveals that the differences are laid between the evaluation of art and the liquidity of art market on the economical values of the art

Mizukawa looks at the transformations on the synchronic times with her generations throughout the existing life.

[Exhibition concept]

The exhibition of “Young Aggressive Aspect" is the individual shows by three emerging artists were born after 1975 who intend to indicate the next generation. They make use of various languages such as conceptual, action, performance, and process work, etc.

And the peculiar essences as artists' liberal motivation are added with skeptical resistant pungency and innocence in urban lives for their creation. Therefore, they sincerely incline their mind to explore the reality of art, and then their struggling thoughts on this situation might be provoked into encouraging aggressiveness effectively.

We are pleased that you could see the exceptional stimulating art, in which the surface of art value would be broken through, and opposed against the trend on the globalisation of art standard in the world with accelerating speed.

In August, Hikaru Fujii “NIKEPOLITICS" was held, and we have received a big reputations. Fujii’s exhibition particularly refers to the art and the activism (art/politics) attributing to the global brand 'NIKE'. The third exhibition, Masaru Iwai, will be held at “Art Center Ongoing” in Kichijoji, January 2009, instead of December 2008.
